Mark's Cancer Fund

My 17-year old nephew, Mark, was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer on July 30, 2016. On August 4th he underwent surgery to remove the tumor and is currently awaiting follow up treatments. This fund is being set up to help pay for the costs that insurance doesn't cover, travel to Albuquerque (and possibly farther) for follow up care, and for time away from work for my brother and sister-in-law.
Mark (our family calls him Marcus or Marky) was born in 1999, the second child of Mark and Yolanda Archuleta. He has an older brother, Brandon - and a younger sister, Melissa. A few years ago, my brother and his wife also took in their godson Andy and are helping to raise him. They all live in Rowe, New Mexico, which means any doctor appointments require travel time.
Mark has a history of medical issues and has had surgery before, so this cancer diagnosis has added to extensive medical bills. It would mean a lot to our family to defray these costs so that we can all concentrate on getting Mark the best care possible, and on his road to a full recovery.
Marky is a loving and kind person. He is a hard worker, and can often be seen helping his neighbors and grandma in Rowe with their yardwork. He loves to play basketball and tell jokes. He is passionate about justice and government and hopes to make a career of helping others.
In starting this fund, we would also like to bring about awareness for others about Testicular Cancer. Mark's cancer was caught early, and if we are able to move quickly and aggressively, his chances of recovery are very high. However, many boys and young men ages 13-35 don't report the signs of this type of cancer and it can spread to other parts of the body. Please visit http://www.testicularcancerawarenessfoundation.org
