Maronite Monastery Project
Donation protected
We are the Maronite Monks of Jesus, Mary and Joseph, a Maronite Catholic Order of contemplative monks--approved by our bishop and in full compliance with the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. We were established in 2011.
We are called to a life of prayer in service to God, his Church, and the world. Our Order has purchased 65 acres of land, in an easily accessible area of southwest Washington state (Castle Rock). With donated funds, we plan to build a chapel with attached living quarters (or cells) sufficient to house the monks. The first phase of the project would include transforming the current small guest house on the property into a retreat center and chapel for the monks to live and pray in while the main monastery is under construction.

Why is bringing a to monastery to SW Washington important?
As monks, we must try to restore the light to our dark world (specifically the Pacific Northwest), where the New Age movement, relativism, atheism, and agnosticism abound. This can be accomplished through unceasing prayer and petitioning to God.
"A monk must be as trees which exist silently in the dark by their vital presence to purify the air"
