Memorial for Marty Cheshier

It's been a few months since our dear friend Marty lost his battle to cancer. Many of us have experienced losing someone and devastating grief, even with such personal experiences of our own, we cannot fathom what our dearest Dawn endures now and in the years to come.
We all miss the friend, co-worker, peer, "partner in crime", confidant or daily acquaintance that was Marty. We got so used to see him down the halls or at functions.. always with a hearty smile.
For me, Marty's trademark and legacy to all of us was his smile. No matter how bad things were, if he was connected to a chemo infusion or getting platelets or dealing with pain, 99% of the time he was around someone he was SMILING. For all the time I knew Marty, he never Not smiled. It was like he had permanently botoxed his face into a smile position!
Because the loss of someone like him, full of character and humor and kindness and wit, is so darn hard; it was decided to wait a few weeks, then months... until we (especially Dawn) could gain the strength to look back at the great things in life that made Marty - Marty. We are now (almost) ready to talk about him, tell all the good stories we have about him and celebrate his life and the moments he touched ours. We are ready to share these stories with tears that will never go away but now are followed by our own smiles as we remember him.
Come smile for Marty
