Maura Sullivan’s Cancer Fund

It is with heavy heart that I share the news that Maura's cancer has returned. Maura has stage four adenocarcinoma (a very aggressive colon cancer that metastasized to her liver) and has been fighting it since December of 2017, enduring multiple surgeries and chemotherapy. We were very encouraged when Maura's CT scans from October of 2018 came back reflecting "NED" (no evidence of disease). We thought this terrible chapter in her life was behind her. Unfortunately, she found out last month that she does indeed have a new liver tumor. The good news is that there is only one and her oncologist and liver surgeon are both optimistic that this can be treated. She re-started chemo treatments last week and is scheduled for another surgery towards the end of June. The reality is that this will be a long road for Maura and while she continues to be positive, finding hope and humor at every turn, she has been unable to work since her original diagnosis in December of 2017, and is struggling to cover her mounting medical bills and basic living expenses - she needs our financial support so she can focus on healing rather than the stress and financial burden that come with this terrible disease.
You may know Maura from the song she co-wrote and sang, “Christmas Eve in Washington” from which she generously donated the proceeds to Children’s Hospital and the Susan B. Komen Foundation. You may also know her through her volunteer efforts with the Wounded Warrior Project, or as a leader in the real estate industry who has assisted hundreds of homeowners in accomplishing their real estate goals. Or you may simply be part of Maura’s circle of family and friends.
It is with grateful hearts that Maura and her family and friends thank you in advance for your generosity and for including Maura in your prayers.
