My name is Michelle Walton and I am on a mission to raise funds for much needed medical treatment, prescriptions I cannot afford and the help of research institutes to find help for severe spinal issues including neurological damage from my face to my toes. The treatments, medications and research facilities are focused on the following issues at hand (or should I say back): Multilevel Advanced Degenerative Disk Disease, Severe Neuropathy, Paresthesia, Cervical Spondylolysis, Multilevel Disk Desiccation, C4-5 Foraminal encroachments -PROGRESSIVE (means that degeneration in the spinal column has caused an obstruction of the foramina), C4-5 & L4-5 Root Impingement, C5-6 Central Stenosis due to Spondylosis - Disk Bulging central protrusion -root Impingments, C6-7 Disk Bulging, Lumbar Spinal Stenosis, Progressive Facet Arthropathy, Bulging Disks with Neural Foraminal Encroachment, and other complicated issues . With multiple medical issues, making my scenario 'high-risk', all the surgeons I have met with have turned their heads in fear of combined issues making treatments difficult and high risk. All these combined issues are leading me to the Barrows Institute in Pheonix AZ . This means flying across country for several visits in hopes that their research team can help.
To top off these issues I need to make my home handicap accessible. So far, the funds raised have allowed me to established hand controls for the car - a BIG hip hip horah! However, there is so much more to be done. I was used to being very active outdoors with Scouts, camping, hiking, horseback riding, etc.. I just can't give in to being confined to my home or a wheelchair. Although at this point, a modern wheel chair is much needed.
On a daily basis I live with constant pain that hovers between a 7 - 9 on a scale of 1 - 10. The Paresthesia (hot burning pins and needles) has now spread all over my body as well as my face. To sum it all up, I suffer from multiple spinal issues and severe sciatica nerve damage from the waist down. Poor circulation also causes sever swelling in both legs. The following are just a few of the issues and diseases that relate to my progressive ongoing medical conditions. Please, if you can find it in your heart to help let me know. I'm so far under water with the high cost of health insurance and medications that I cannot afford to get the treatment, medication needed, medical equipment, or travel to the research institutes for the help I desperately need.
