Mikey Snyder's Kidney Transplant
Donation protected
Hello Friends and Family,
As many of you know, our son Mikey was born with fibrosis of the liver which is related to a genetic illness called polycystic kidney disease. (PKD). At 9 months old, he was diagnosed with Hepatic Fibrosis which most children do not typically survive past early childhood. My husband and I were told our precious baby boy would likely not survive past the age of six from this liver disease. As if that wasn’t enough, in 2014 Mikey was diagnosed with a rare form of PKD known as ARPKD, autosomal recessive polycystic kidney disease, yet despite all these difficulties Mikey has defied the odds. Mikey is now 31 years old. He is handsome, smart, loving and has a great sense of humor. We couldn’t be more proud of him. Now the time has come and Mikey needs a kidney and a liver transplant.
There are going to be a lot of expenses involved. His first of many surgeries will be this August 3rd and we will need to stay near the hospital in case of any complications. In order to get his surgeries, he has to have his dad and I stay with him as caretakers. There will be numerous clinic visits and lab draws at least three times per week. To stay at the Transplant Housing, it will cost $3700.00 per month and we will need to be there for atleast 3 months. His medications are very expensive and will be needed for the rest of his life. My husband Eddie will have to take a leave of absence from his job and we will still need to pay our mortgage and monthly bills. Our goal is to raise $50,000.00 to help cover some of these expenses for now and for surgeries coming up. Please share this post with your friends and family. With your help getting the word out, I am sure we can make this happen. Our gratitude goes out to you all for your donations and for keeping Mikey in your thoughts and prayers.
Gratefully,
Sheri & Eddie Snyder
