My name is Breana Grace Thomas,
I am a Junior Theatre Arts major at the illustrious Howard University in Washington, D.C. This year I have the honor and privilege of being Miss Black Maryland US Ambassador 2017. Receiving this title means so much to me because being an ambassador of change means taking charge and making an impact on my community, which is something that I have been prolonging to do. Over the past 5 years I have been apart of several community service projects like 21st century leaders, hoops for hope in Atlanta, and being an ambassador for the Children's Miracle Network. Those listed are just some of the many programs that I have been involved with. My platform entitled " Queens Uplift" is a community service initiative that targets young black women across my community to become active in their communities, it also promotes health and wellness amongst the black community, I plan on creating different service days and becoming an activist for change within black women but of course I have to start somewhere. The Miss Black US Ambassador and Miss Black Teen US Ambassador pageant awards scholarship money to its winning competitors and it would only make my dreams and aspirations come to life if I am fortunate enough to win the national title of Miss Black U.S. Ambassador 2017 in Orlando, Florida July 17-23rd 2017. If I am fortunate enough to win this title I will become an ambassador of change where I will encourage, empower and enlighten other young women across the nation. Although, the road will be long it won't be easy for me either in order to compete at nationals I need to raise $ 2,000 for pageant sponsorship fees, and travel expenses, it may seem like a lot but with your help it can get done. I am asking for any donation or for you to simply pass this around so that others can have the opportunity to help me get to nationals !
