Prayers for Miss Meg
Donation protected
Five year old Meg from Lincoln NE, will be undergoing open brain surgery September 22, 2015, in Houston Texas.
A cyst was incidentally found on a CT scan, after a fall on a waterslide caused her to hit her head. The cyst is the size of a man’s fist and has grown tumor-like, dangerously wrapping around her carotid artery and optic nerve. It spans from the outer covering of her brain, to the brain stem.
They cyst has displaced her brain and caused high brain pressure. It’s affected her speech, eating, alertness, and has caused severe headaches and nausea. The doctors have drained cerebral fluid and have her on medication in attempts to lower the pressure, but regulation has been unsuccessful.
Meg lives with her mother, Kylie, and 9 year old brother, Evan. Kylie has been recovering herself, from a traumatic brain injury and fractured spine, sustained from a car accident last summer.
This surgery is the first step, but additional surgeries will likely be required. Medical and travel expenses have been piling up and the family would appreciate your prayers and support.
