Mohameds Journey to One Young World

My profile:
My name is Mohamed Mohamud and I'm from London, UK. I'm 25 years old.
I am recognised for my passion for community work, empowering young people to have a voice in their community and I try my utmost to make a difference in the community. I have created platforms such as Somali Sideways and alhamdulilah it is something I am proud of. This project has enable to travel to so many places around the world and it is something that has broaden my horizons to another level. I have met so many amazing souls in the last few years and I am grateful to everyone for what they have done for me. I believe it is imperative that young people to pursue positions that will have a greater impact to our society. Whether it be working in government or charity organisations, young people should take part in the whole process. If you are not in those positions, how will your voice ever be heard?
I believe this is valuable for me to take part as it will be an important stepping stone to where I want to go in the future. Young people especially those who have an ethnic background should be part of this process as they can be able to give back to their communities, whether it be local, national or international. I will share and give my insight to my community and to try to implement them inthe foreseeable future.
I believe it is important to help each other achieve our goals. One of my favourite sayings that I try to live by is Don't explain your philosophy, embody it. There's one thing trying to talk about something important and there's another by trying your utmost best to do whatever necessary to adopt it into your daily life.
Alhamdulilah I got accepted to go to the summit taking place in Bogota, Colombia and with your help I can take part in this fantastic opportunity. By participating in the 2017 One Young World Summit, I will have the opportunity of a lifetime to engage world leaders and up-and-coming leaders by working together and trying to tackle and implement solutions to the problems of today.

What Is One Young World?
One Young World was founded in 2009. They are a UK-based not-for-profit that gathers together the brightest young people from around the world, empowering them to make lasting connections to create positive change.
They stage an annual Summit where the most valuable young talent from global and national companies, NGO's, universities and other forward-thinking organisations are joined by world leaders, acting as the One Young World Counsellors. At the Summit, delegates debate, formulate and share innovative solutions for the pressing issues the world faces.
This summit unites young leaders from across the world who are all working to positively impact their society through the fields of health, education, politics, engineering, business, arts, social networks, youth work and media to name a few.
One Young World provides delegates the rare opportunity to interact directly with several of these world leaders during the summit and conveniently form long lasting and life changing relationships with them.
