Help Mollie Kish after Hurricane
Donation protected
During her selfless drive to help others, Mollie had water inundate her home, ruining her flooring, possessions, and possible foundation. Her neighborhood received over 8 feet of flood water and she has lost nearly everything. She has already given so many hours of her time to helping those hurt by the flood, but we need to make sure she has somewhere to sleep and food to eat.
Mollie has spent most of Hurricane Harvey on the back of a boat or wading through water rescuing people in her neighborhood in Houston and transporting them to safer ground. She hasn't slept and has rescued over 50 people, pets, and even wild animals.
Houston has been hit with over 4 feet of rain in a few days. To put that in perspective, Houston receives about that much rain in an entire year. Thousands of families have been displaced from their homes, and while the rain has stopped, there is nowhere for it to go and it may stay stagnant for another week.
Please consider donating to help her out. Money will go towards cleaning up her home, storing her belongings, and any expenses associated with being displaced from her home. Any small amount will be greatly appreciated.
If you live in Houston and would prefer to donate supplies or time to help clear her apartment out, you can call or text (281) [phone redacted] and ask for Abby (this is a forwarding number). I set up this account for Mollie, a very close friend of mine who I met through the close WVU alumni network and now share the city of Houston with. All proceeds will be given directly to her through GoFundMe in order to pay for housing, food, clean up supplies, and any other expenses related to the loss of her home. She will withdraw the money directly from the site as I will not have access.
Mollie is a perfect example of what it means to be a Mountaineer, giving whatever she can to neighbors in need. She is a part of the WVU Master's Geology class of 2016, and moved to Houston just last year.
