Rehab Mount Hope Municipal Stadium
Donation protected
As a graduate of Mount Hope High School, Class of 1982, I can state with all confidence that Mount Hope Municipal Stadium is one of the most unique high school stadiums in the country. It provides a sporting experience that rivals many college stadiums across the country. If you have ever played a game or observed one in Mount Hope Municipal Stadium whether you were a Mustang or an opponent, it is an experience you will remember for the rest of you life.
Among the things you will likely remember is the distinctive stone architecture with a castle-like appearance and the ability to drive into the stadium to watch the game from the comfort of your vehicle. Mount Hope residents affectionately refer to this area as the "Horn" as our supporters would blow their horns to show their support.
Built in the 1930's, the stadium is in need of repair and a new tenant(s) now that Mount Hope High School is closed. The stadium is a key asset for the City of Mount Hope and can serve as a excellent facility to host a variety of sporting events, that will help contribute to the Mount Hope and regional economy.
The goal of this effort is to raise $22,000 to fund a facility assessment to be conducted by a sports facility engineering firm to determine the feasibility and cost to rehab the stadium and potentially add the following amenities:
* All Weather Turf Field
* All Weather Track
* New State of the Art Scoreboard
* Increase seating Capacity
* Upgrade Press Box
* Upgrade dressing facilities
* Upgrade PA System
* Repair aging infrastructure
& More
All donations will go to support this effort and the expenses associated with coordinating this assessment.
The assessment is estimated to cost between $15,000 - $18,000. The remaining funds will go toward the fee for using this site to collect the funds and other expenses related to coordinating this effort. Completing this assessment will provide the leadership of Mount Hope with valuable information related to rebuilding the Mount Hope economy and improving the quality of life for Mount Hope Residents.
