No Lost Generation at GWU

Tax deductible
No Lost Generation – George Washington University

Campaign Objective:
We strive to raise funds to help our student group hold events and fundraisers to support Syrian refugees around the world, as well as create promotional items that college students can use to increase awareness of the issue.

Our events include speakers from government agencies and non-governmental organizations who share their programs and galvanize students to start a discussion about the Syrian refugee crisis. Events so far have helped motivate  students to get involved in our efforts to support access to education for all refugees.

Our Mission
No Lost Generation GW is a student group at the George Washington University working with the support of the US Department of State to mobilize the college community in the international effort to expand access to education for Syrian refugees.

Our Objectives
Our objectives are to increase public awareness of the issue, fundraise for partner non-governmental organizations providing educational support in the region, and connect students to relevant volunteer opportunities.

Our Partners
The Rumie Initiative has given us a resource through which we can channel our energy and efforts. Rumie supplies low-cost tablets to underserved communities around the world pre-loaded with educational content and open source material. We will support this organization both financially and in terms of content supply

The Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University will consider adding curriculum based around our activities and could include an opportunity for students to take a short-term study abroad course. By working closely with the Elliott School, NLG-GW has established a strong awareness of our goals at the George Washington University.

Our Vision
We're expanding our network of partnerships and seen to simultaneously support organizations like Rumie; therefore, a cross-section of GW students are provided the opportunity to harness their individual strengths for the broader effort. We will be looking into further partnerships and connections similar to this as we move forward with our mission.
