Online 12 Step Recovery Global Community

Online 12 Step Recovery started on March 15, 2020 in response to the Covid-19 crisis. Since that time, we have provided an online venue and website services for 12 Step Groups and those who attend them.  We have made it possible for still suffering Addicts / Alcoholics to attend over 200,000 hours of live support meetings since then.

I have been funding this endeavor out of my pocket for the past two years.

That has worked okay, because stewardship is a very high priority - everything we have belongs to God. You won’t find my name on a dollar bill anywhere - God’s name is on every one.

We are closing the office in downtown Milwaukee and moving everything to my residence near Madison, Wisconsin. This will reduce monthly recurring costs dramatically, but it has been expensive, particularly in terms of fuel, going back and forth to Milwaukee and addressing the ongoing need for in-person support for people in recovery, donations to shelters and treatment centers, advocacy, etc…

Our longer term goals include electrification of the one vehicle “fleet” because we are able to charge EVs for free. Fuel costs are a major portion of recurring expenses. The internal combustion car that we currently have will be used locally.

Our Milwaukee office lease binds me to paying rent through August 31, 2022, the balance of which is approximately $935.00 which is presently past due.

This effort has been funded primarily by borrowing - $26,794.07 since March of 2020, and I really can’t borrow any more money until September.

I won’t stop doing the work - someone dies of this disease every seven minutes in the US. I know that we are making a difference, making it possible for the still suffering alcoholic / addict to reach out for help from anywhere in the world.

Because we support all aspects of 12 Step Recovery, we provide Zero Cost Venues so that groups don’t have to mix money with spiritual matters, a matter of concern since 12 Step Recovery began.
