Operation K9
Donation protected
Operation Our Town is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that was created in 2006 to combat drugs and crime in Blair County, PA. The organization raises money to fund programs and initiatives that reduce both the supply and demand for drugs through law enforcement, treatment, and prevention efforts.
We are requesting support to help raise funds for the purchase of a new drug dog that will be housed at the Logan Township Police Department.
In 2007, Operation Our Town provided a grant for the purchase of a drug dog named Vilo. Vilo and his handler, Officer Matt Lutz, have been a very successful team in Logan Township and surrounding Blair County municipalities.
Vilo officially entered retirement on August 15, 2017 after 9 years of service and will remain as a family pet with his handler.
Operation Our Town is collecting donations through Operation K9 to purchase and train a new K9 officer that will fill Vilo's position. The funding we are requesting will help to cover the cost of the new dog, six weeks of training, lodging for the officer, and associated K-9 equipment.
Please consider supporting the purchase of a new drug dog for the Logan Township Police Department. We appreciate any amount, whether big or small, to support this effort. Thank you for your continued support!
