Help build the infrastructure to get started! The Pregnancy and Postpartum Protection Alliance (PAPPPA) is dedicated to establishing a holistic support system for marginalized mothers throughout pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period. We're working on collaborating with key stakeholders and integrating modern technology to develop a forward-thinking communal framework (an app) that prioritizes the mental health, financial access, and comprehensive care needed to survive on your journey through motherhood.

Mental Health Initiatives

"Baby blues" is a nicely coined term used to describe the quiet, dismissed suffering of mothers who are expected to endure the exhaustion, isolation, and overwhelming weight of motherhood in a world that does not support or care for them. It’s a convenient label, a softening of the harsh reality that marginalized mothers face—an easy way to strip away the layers of systemic neglect and make it seem like a passing phase, something internal, something personal, when in reality it is a direct result of a world that is not built to nurture or uplift us.

PAPPPA's Mission:
  • Trusted and convenient peer-to-peer support interactions
  • Experienced and accessible mentorship
  • Free collaborative resource sharing

Financial Support Systems

The fact that paid family leave is not a worldwide standard speaks volumes about how little society values the physical, emotional, and financial burdens placed on mothers in relation to capitalism. Have you silently suffered in your career due to pregnancy, labor, and/or delivery? Have you been forced to return to work too soon because the financial pressure of unpaid leave is unbearable? Have your medical appointments, hospital stays, and recovery been treated as inconveniences rather than the necessary care that should be prioritized to survive? Have your rights, your well-being, and your future been placed on the back burner while the world pushes you to perform in a system that refuses to support you? Has your pregnancy made it hard to stay afloat and keep your head above water financially—leaving you with the impossible choice of sacrificing your health or sacrificing your livelihood? It doesn’t have to be this way, and it shouldn’t be.

PAPPPA's Mission:
  • Tangible Crowdsourced Communal Financial Support
  • Workplace Navigators
  • Policy Advocacy & Mobilization

Community Engagement

You don’t have to be a marginalized mother to take part in PAPPPA—because the power of community engagement is something we all can contribute to. Whether you’re a neighbor, a friend, a coworker, or someone who simply believes in justice and equity, you can make a difference. By supporting PAPPPA, you’re not just supporting mothers; you’re amplifying the overwhelming voices of those who are often ignored, advocating for policies that uplift everyone, and helping to create a world where no mother struggles alone.

PAPPPA's Mission:
  • Outreach Programs
  • Family-Centered Events
  • Feedback Mechanisms

Advocacy and PAPPPA Protocol Development

Advocacy is an activity by an individual or group that aims to influence decisions within political, economic, and social institutions. We're not advocating to our clear oppressors. We're going to do things differently; we’re going to advocate amongst ourselves, to support the collective, and to build the kind of community that lifts us all up. We’re not going to waste our energy begging or pleading with the very systems that are the problem. Instead, we will focus on empowering each other, amplifying the voices that have been silenced, and organizing in ways that shift the balance of what real power can weld as a collective. True advocacy is not about asking; it’s about creating space where justice is the standard, not the exception.

PAPPPA's Mission:
  • Innovative Advancement
  • Research Collaboration
  • Education and Empowerment

We’re building something powerful—an app and non-profit infrastructure to support marginalized mothers with the resources, community, and advocacy they deserve. Your donation today helps bring this platform and its programs to life. Once launched, monthly donations at different contribution tiers (starting as little as $0.50 a day) grants PAPPPA members the opportunity to benefit from a variety of programs and support.

Donate now and be part of this transformative movement.
