Kestrel Nesting Boxes | By April 1

Donation protected

CAMPAIGN UPDATE: DONATIONS APPRECIATED BY FEB. 20, BUT DONATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED THROUGH APRIL 1.

We have made the $750 campaign goal--- BUT DO KEEP THE DONATIONS COMING! $900  would provide the money needed to make all the kestrel boxes needed this year. See details below.

PA Game Commission (PGC) has placed the American kestrel on its state list of Species of Greatest Conservation Need. The kestrel is the smallest North American falcon (about the size of a blue jay).

Dan Mummert, a PGC biologist, needs nesting boxes built & donated to carry out a multi-year kestrel conservation resarch program.

HERE'S WHERE YOU COME IN. We need funds to secure the materials needed to  make the boxes. $15 will cover the material costs for one (1) nesting box.

Our original goal was $500 (makes 35 boxes)--- but the campaign is going so well --- so we have raised the goal to $750! If we reach this new goal, workworkers can make 50 of the 75 nesting boxes for this research project.

$900 provides the wood for 60 nesting boxes. Lumber to make 15 additional boxes has already been donated! 60 + 15 = a fully funded kestrel nesting box campaign. That is way beyond our original expecations!

THANKS TO ALL THE DONORS WHO HAVE GIVEN SO GENEROUSLY TO DATE!

How much of your donation will go to make kestrel boxes? 100%! A  fine person wants to pay for all fees charged by Go Fund Me!

Farm land is the environment kestrels need . The  PA naturalist decided to start the research project here in Lancaster County --- where agriculture is a big part of the culture.

So the naturalist to lead the project is in place--- and wood workers have volunteered their time to make the kestrel nesting boxes.

The kestrels will return to  SE PA in early March ready to build nests.  It will take about a week to build the boxes. Then the boxes need to be placed in the field. Can you help us get the funds needed soon?

State funding for projects like this have dried up. Yet the need for conservation projects is greater than ever.

Thanks for considering helping to make this Go Fund Me environmental project a success.  And, yes, do share the project with friends who might be interested, too. Funding above this project's goal would be used to make additional nesting boxes.
