POBChamber of Commerce 911 Memorial
Donation protected
Bold Beautiful Brave--Dedication ceremony will be held on Sunday, 9-11-16 @ POB Library @ 4:30 pm. Please join us for this special tribute.
September 11, 2016 will mark the 15th anniversary of the horrific terrorist attack on New York, our city, our nation and our world. Where were you when the planes struck the towers? What did you feel? How was your world changed forever?
On behalf of the entire community, the Plainview-Old Bethpage Chamber of Commerce will be presenting a Memorial to 911 that is bold, beautiful and brave. It will be a testament to all those who died in the World Trade Center; and a monument to their memory and the bedrock principles which make our country great: Freedom, Liberty & Tolerance.
Reflecting these ideals, the Memorial will be created by renowned Long Island artist David Haussler with a beautiful sculpture featuring a piece of steel from the World Trade Center.
The Memorial will be installed at the POB Library's Alma Craib Memorial Garden, a serene and beautiful setting for the scuplture. The project will also include an innovative educational component that students from POBJFK High School Media Arts Department will create to memorialize the events of September 11th.
The Chamber plans on presenting the 911 Memorial to our community on Sunday, September 11, 2016.
Be Bold, Beautiful and Brave. We want to engage the entire community in this exciting project. Show your support for the Memorial and the ideals it embodies by making a donation of any amount which will be used to fund the creation and installation of the Memorial.
With your donation you will join our community and country in honoring those who lost their lives on September 11th. We are hoping to raise $20,911.
Join us in this project.
Together, let's be Bold, Beautiful and Brave.
The Chamber of Commerce deeply appreciates your support!
