Palisades Task Force on Homelessnes
The Pacific Palisades Task Force on Homelessness
(PPTFH) is a community organization created by the residents of Pacific Palisades (90272) to deal with this growing issue.
We recognize that law enforcement alone is not a solution to the problem of homelessness, but that law enforcement and outreach together can make an impact in a meaningful and practical way. Therefore, we are collaborating with Ocean Park Community Center ("OPCC") to provide comprehensive services to our homeless population, including connecting homeless veterans to services available through the veteran’s administration. OPCC will establish and manage a full-time professional Palisades "homeless outreach team" This two-person team will be present in the Palisades eight hours a day, five days a week. It will locate and engage our homeless persons, assess their needs, connect them to appropriate services and housing, and provide on-call, as-needed support to Palisades residents and business in their encounters with homeless people.
In order to be successful we must have the support of the entire community, and we are asking for your financial support in this endeavor. The cost of OPCC's services is $125,000 per year and through community fundraising efforts, the Task Force plans to raise $500,000 to pay for three years of OPCC homeless outreach services and the costs associated with signage and brush clearance programs.
At the conclusion of this campaign, it is our hope that every resident and business person will feel a sense of pride because they participated in making Pacific Palisades a safer and more attractive place to live, while also assisting a marginalized segment of our society in a compassionate and respectful way.
OPCC is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. All donations for PPTFH are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
