Pedal to the Heartbeat

Hey friends and fellow bikers! My name is Spencer Buchness, I am 24 years old, and I am biking across America to help fight pediatric Heart Disease. Cycling across the United States has always fascinated me, and when I discovered Save a Child’s Heart Foundation, it hit me-- I am going to raise money and awareness for this great cause. The Save a Child’s Heart Foundation provides lifesaving medical heart procedures to disadvantaged children at no cost to the families, ultimately saving so many amazing lives around the world. These children have little to no access to proper care in their native countries. Last year, I was able to meet some of the children who directly benefited from this incredible foundation. I met the sweetest little girl whose story profoundly impacted me, this foundation saved her life. Her story is remarkable and through my own journey across the United States, I hope to raise enough funds to save at least one child. The medical costs for each heart surgery is $15,000, which is my dream goal for this fundraising campaign. I hope to raise $4,000 to fund my bicycle trip from Ocean City, MD to San Francisco, CA this summer. After travel expenses are covered for food, gear, and the occasional place to sleep, I will do whatever it takes to raise as much money as I can for this great cause and I will be spreading the message along the 4,000 mile journey. Together we will hit our goal!
