Pitre Family Flood Fund
Donation protected
Hi everyone, my name is Carrie Jobe and I have lived in Lafayette Parish my entire 33 years of life. Recently, many people were affected by the major flooding event that started on August 13, 2016 (2 days ago). Many people have had their houses flooded in and had to be rescued from their homes leaving all their possessions, pets and everything behind. My Aunt Jackie and Uncle Keith Pitre were among the many people who lost their homes and are now homeless due to the flooding event. They have resided in Maurice for 38 years and have never had such a disaster happen in that area and had no flood insurance for their home. My Uncle was close to retiring, but it does not look like he will be able to now. My Aunt's job that she worked at has also been destroyed, so it is unknown how long it will take for that business to be up and running again. She works to help provide for her two grandchildren who will also be affected by this event. So, because these people are important to me and have been so good to me, I am raising money to help them so they can hopefully get back on their feet. I know we can't make up for everything they worked so hard to build in 38 years, but maybe we can get them through a stormy season. No amount of money is too small for a donation. This would mean alot to me because they have both worked so hard their entire lives and they are good people who need a helping hand right now. If anyone can donate or even just pass this one I will be more than greatful and thankful for your help!
