An update:
Thank you all for your help for Ken as he has dealt with his cancer. As time progresses it is clear that Jean and Ken will need more of our help as they continue to deal with Ken's growing health care needs. We know many of you have given, some of you more than once. We thank you for that. Today, we ask that you give for the first time, or consider giving again, to help Ken with his costs as well as Jean as she cares for Ken. She is spending most of her time at the hospital by his side and needs help to care for her own needs and home, today, and in the future.
Together, we can be the shoulders Ken and Jean lean on in this challenging time.

The Backstory
My name is Jean Richards and I am a wife, mother, daughter, and friend. I would like to tell you a story about courage.
My husband, Ken Richards, is a resourceful, hardworking man and provider who has etched out a career as an artist. He is a father, a husband, brother and friend and has people who care for him, but the challenges he faces are almost insurmountable without help. Ken has been sick with stage 3 colon cancer for the past 14 months. A life of an artist is not necessarily an easy one and he has had many ups and downs. With continued and growing health care needs, Ken is not able t work as a security guard for income and sadly, it is becoming harder for him to do his art.
At his age, he understands that life doesn’t give you all the cards you want, but it is how you play them. It is likely I will lose the house Ken and I have lived in for more than 20 years without help. Costs for our home, his health care needs and lost wages continue to grow as we continue to respond to Ken's needs.
I would greatly appreciate any donations to help us as we continue to cope with Ken's medical needs.
Sincerely,
Jean Richards
