Help Nico's Fight To Survive

Nico... My son is 20 years old and has been battling long rare disease since infancy. He has a Chromosome 14 Deletion Disorder and is the 2nd person in the WORLD to have been diagnosed! He's a child who has fought against all odds since birth giving him zero chance to survive. But his driven will to live, tenacious courage to battle this rare disease, and infectious determination has kept him alive! He's had 17 surgeries to restore the damage from this fierce brutal disease over the year. To know Nico is to be inspired by Nico. He has overcome the greatest odds and still has the will and the desire to wake up every morning.

In July 2015 a brutal virus attacked his lungs, leaving him on a ventilator fighting for his life. He spent nearly 2 months in the hospital and he survived! Since then, he has been confined to his bed. His spirits have gotten stronger and have not been broken. He truly has a love for life and has inspired thousands across the world.

I vowed to my son that if he survived I would start a foundation in honor of his life. Hence “Paving Pathways for Tomorrow” came to life. In December of 2015, I started a 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation in honor of my son and single-parent families who have ailing children stricken with rare or orphaned diseases to help lessen the financial burdens and give these children a more promising life.
We are one of these families. My son Nico is one of those children. I am a divorced mom caring for 2 boys and am the primary care taker of my son Nico who is now again fighting for his life. It's a misfortune that I cannot work. There is little means of financial support and my son needs me home or to be in a hospital to keep him well and safe.

In January 2017, the vicious flu virus attacked his poor lungs and nearly left him in an induced coma. He pulled through once again. However, his lungs are already comprised and barely breathing! He is in ICU once again fighting hard to stay alive. HE IS IN NEED OF SO MUCH MEDICAL CARE! He requires extra nursing care that will not be covered along with other needs. We need your help to give my son a fighting chance to live a more promising life. We need to keep him alive with the hopes of finding a cure.

Our foundation has been our saving grace and we need to continue to raise the funds for his upcoming care. Doctors are now filling out the paperwork for a Double-Lung Transplant. Brokenhearted as I am, he just may not live long along to wait for a miracle. I am not capable to handle the financial burdens for what's to come. We need to turn to you to help!
