ABOUT
Fashion For A Cause Montreal is a non-profit association of professionals creating awareness and raising funds to increase the visibility of local and nationwide causes and charities, for greater impact in the community.
Since its launch Thanksgiving 2012, Rip The Runway Montreal has doubled donation totals while entertaining, educating and giving thanks every Thanksgiving with fashion, live performances and all white memorial. To date, they have produced sold out events attracting: public figures, media, high level entertainment, and with a cumulative attendance of 1000 and donations of over $11,000!
Charities and causes are chosen by the stories of survivors, and in memory of those that have passed on. In addition, official donation campaigns are launched during each promotion campaign for those unable to attend, and those looking to donate in addition to their ticket purchase. All ticket sales and donations are donated on behalf of Fashion For A Cause Montreal.
TRISTAN’S STORY
My name is Tristan Williams, and I am a Survivor! I am a 2x cancer survivor, diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis since 2009. At the age of 12 I found a lump in my neck, which was later diagnosed as Thyroid Cancer.
At the age of 19 I began to fall, and experience numbness throughout my legs. After many months of searching for answers, my neurologist diagnosed me with Multiple Sclerosis. I had no idea what Multiple Sclerosis was. I struggled to find support, creating The Road to You MS Support Group and The Tristan WilliaMS Foundation. Then I was diagnosed with cancer for a second time…
They removed my right hip to rid the cancer from my bone, and replaced it with a titanium prosthesis. As I learned to walk again, I promised myself that this fight would not be in vain, and fought to regain my mobility and sense of identity. Today I thrive on leading by example, using my experience to motivate myself, as well as inspire others and those living with MS.
