Radio 614 formed just over a year ago to answer a need for a free-form radio station in Columbus, Ohio. Radio 614 is completely volunteer-powered, features several weekly hosted programs, and frequently broadcasts remotely from venues and clubs around town.
We have a mission to educate individuals who want to learn about broadcasting, audio engineering, and internet technology. Radio 614 is committed to enriching the space where art, music, and technology intersect in Central Ohio.
Radio 614 is applying for 501(c)(3) non-profit status. Becoming a federally-recognize non-profit organization makes our expenses more manageable and allows us to apply for grants to expand our remote-broadcasting capabilities. But we need an infusion of cash now to make that all happen by the start of 2017. Your donation to this campaign will go directly toward expenses related to the non-profit application and toward our 2017 obligations to performance royalty organizations.
The public response to Radio 614 in our first year has been overwhelming. Many of you have told us that Columbus has needed an organization like Radio 614 for years now. With your help we can continue to bring attention to local music, art, and culture while educating musicians and music aficionados about technology that will help them reach their creative goals.
