#RallyCaps! Help Dan's Cost of ALS

Donation protected
In the summer of 2017 my uncle Dan Colon was doing what he loves, playing baseball for his adult men's baseball team. By the end of the summer Dan started noticing weakness in his leg and hand and  tripping. He ignored the signs, thinking it was simple wear and tear from playing baseball at the age of 52.

In September of 2017 he was seen by his cardiologist, given the profound weakness, concern was raised that he may have had a stroke and was immediately sent to the emergency room. After multiple tests by several Doctors (EMG, MRI,blood & urine, nerve conduction study, etc.) my uncle Dan on January 26, 2018 the day before his oldest daughter Danielle's 28th birthday who is a Boston University Alumni, was given the devastating news of his ALS diagnosis, which broke his heart not knowing how he would tell his wife and children.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a disease that kills the nerves that control motion in your body. As those nerves die my uncle will lose complete control of all of his muscles, eventually he will lose the ability to walk, speak, swallow and eventually breathe.

When I returned home, to Kentucky, from my military service, I struggled with my post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). After a few years, I needed to make a change, so I decided to relocate to New Jersey.  It was my uncle Dan who welcomed me with open arms, and it was that love that inspired me out of darkness. So now it's my turn to reciprocate that love and fight this battle alongside him.  Please help my uncle Dan, and his family, who are without medical insurance relieve the financial burden of medical treatments, (Great team of Physicians, expensive cost of medicine, STEM CELL treatments, physical therapy, speech therapy, respiratory therapy, home care assistance and equipment cost, such as, respiratory machines, electronic wheelchairs, cost of feeding tubes and installation of ramps in the home) so that my uncle may live a better quality of his remaining life with his wife and children as his disease is very progressive. Please lets put our #RALLYCAPS on for my uncle Dan. His goal is to be able to see his son who is a student athlete (baseball player at Indiana State) play ball and more importantly graduate college.
