What did we do?

In  August 2016 we were crowned grand champion of “Those were the days BBQ showdown” in N. Battleford Saskatchewan in addition, winning 13 other awards that season in various other competitions. In may 2017 we received an invitation to compete in the World Series of Barbecue® labour day weekend hosted by the American Royal association in Kansas City Missouri, USA. 

What is the Royal?

The American Royal is an annual eight-week season of barbecue competition, rodeos, livestock shows, equestrian events and agricultural activities benefiting youth and education. One of Kansas City's premier fall events with annual economic impact of more than $62 million. The Royal hosts the world's largest barbecue contest, one of the Midwest's largest livestock exhibitions, one of the top five ranked rodeos in the US, and is home of the American national championship horse competition.

The American Royal World Series of Barbecue® is a longstanding tradition in Kansas City. 2017 will mark the 38th year of fire and smoke! Competitors from around the world join in the world’s largest barbecue competition to be crowned the grand champion in the Invitational Competition, Open Competition, Sides Competition and Kids Que! The barbecue Invitational and open competition is divided into several categories: Brisket, pork ribs, pork shoulder, chicken. Additional categories are sausage, side dishes, Turkey, and dessert.

Get to the point kid…

We are looking for sponsors to help us raise $10,000 to get to the royal this september labor day weekend. We will be driving 5,158 km total,  August 28th 2017 and through September 4th 2017. This is a major goal in our competition career, as well being one of the few Canadian teams invited to represent Canada in the international circle is pretty cool and a life long dream! Our fundraising event is taking place August 18th 2017 at Bo’s Bar and Grill in Red Deer Alberta. We will be setting up a silent auction at the event as well so if you would like to donate some unique items or gift certificates we would add that to your contribution total that can be put towards some great incentives we are planning for our sponsors!

We will donate 10% of our total raised funds as well as any money that exceeds our goal straight to the a local Red Deer charity that we are in talks with and will anounce at a later date.
