Giving Tuesday 2017
Tax deductible
Giving Tuesday kicks off giving season. But it's also fire season; the busiest time of year for our responders. This year our hydrant is empty. We can't have an empty fire hydrant during fire season!
Sadly, everyday you see a story of someone losing their home to fire, natural disasters or a building collapse. What you probably don’t see is the Red Paw team climbing through the ruins of that disaster, whispering and calling for a missing pet - so often hiding in shock and fearing for their life. Once found, we race that animal to the vet to be completely checked over, covering any costs and then providing safe housing until their owners have a new safe place of their own, at which time we are able to reunite that pet with its loving family.
Every day there are on average, 5-10 fires in Philadelphia alone, each month we provide assistance to an average of 80 pets – finding ourselves poised to triple the total number of families Red Paw will assist - already over 800 in only 10 months, so far this year.
Your participation this #GivingTuesday provides the opportunity to support an organization that ensures ALL family members are taken care of during and after a disaster in their home – and kept together or reunited when they are able to recover.
We realize that we are only one of many worthy organizations seeking your contribution - so we hope you will agree that as an animal lover, few things can be as important during an emergency than knowing your animal members of the family would be taken care of with the same love and compassion you would provide them if you were able to, until their safe and healthy return to your arms.
This #GivingTuesday, please help us reach our goal and #FillTheHydrant! $10,000 will ensure we can continue to respond and help families with pets affected, missing or injured by fires through the rest of the year!
