Junior Rowing World Championships

Dear Family and Friends,
If you have not heard from various sources, I have had a unique opportunity arise this summer. I’ve been invited to train with 32 other girls from throughout the U.S. in New London, Connecticut at the 2015 Selection Camp for the U.S. Junior Women's National Team and 2016 Worlds Development Team. Sixteen (16) of the athletes from the Selection Camp will then be selected for the team to compete at an elite level of rowing in a boat traveling to the Junior Rowing World Championships in Rio Brazil!
The cost for the Selection Camp is $2870. Athletes selected for the US Junior National Team and Worlds Development Team will then be responsible for the additional cost of $2050. This will cover all expenses during the remainder of the respective camps, including training at various sites, transportation/hotel/meals while training at Princeton University, pair trials, flights to/from and hotel/meals at the Junior World Championships in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil August 5-9th.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me, and one chance I am determined not to miss. Countless miles of rowing on the river, training both on my own and with my team, and numerous hours of coaching and learning the ins and out of what makes a top level rower have led to this opportunity. I now need to raise the funds to make sure I can make the team.
My parents are paying for my Foundation Year at Kent School in order for me to possibly attend the United States Naval Academy in 2016. And so, I am fundraising in order to offset the costs of $4,900 to row at these training facilities, and hopefully travel the World Championships in Rio.
Any amount would be help immensely, and I would be eternally grateful for any support from fellow rowers, friends, or family. I truly appreciate your support towards my rowing career.
