Help Ruth Stand Up in the Crowd!
Donation protected
Hi I'm Ruth and in 2014 I had a major stroke at the age of just 23. I was left unable to move and speak. Although everything in my mind works and I understand everything, I cannot reply.
I have been working hard with Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists and Speech therapy with the help of carers and my partner Tom.
I am now 28 and progress is slow, but heading in the right direction.
There is no estimated recovery time for a stroke.
I'm on here to raise funds for a special new wheelchair. This wheelchair will not only provide a greater quality of life for me, but it will also help me towards being more independent, healthier, and help me to achieve my therapy goals.
This wheelchair will allow me to sit down in a range of positions and then also stand up and be able to go down the street with my partner. Unless you have been in a wheelchair you cannot imagine how unnerving it is to be sat amongst a crowd.
With this chair I will be able to stand up and be part of the crowd. For example, at a concert or show it will allow me to feel just like the rest of the audience and It won't make me feel like I'm on the outside looking in.
Please help me to achieve this goal as it will make a huge difference to all aspects of my daily life. Any Donations are greatly appreciated.
