Hi friends, family and comic readers. I'm Enrique Morales, SF native, born and raised. I'm also a writer who graduated from San Francisco State University with a BA in Drama and I've had some of my work published in the past. Since graduating, I've had to work odd jobs to make ends meet and the economy hasn't been too friendly.  One thing has helped to motivate me and give me ambition and that's comics. I love comics so much that I decided to create my own.

My comic book, introduces Rick Alvarez, a young Latino teen who lives in San Francisco, takes martial arts, dreams about being an actor and then becomes a superhero, THE PHENOMENAL SPECTER X. The script is solid, admired by many comic artists who are interested in drawing it since it captures the atmosphere life of San Francisco, but with super powers. I'll also have a diverse cast of characters. People of all backgrounds will be represented in this comic, since San Francisco is a diverse city. This will be a comic that will embody San Francisco and introduce the city's own original superhero. He'll actually be representing the whole Bay Area. I also plan to give this series strong female characters ala Joss Whedon. If you love comics, then you know that San Francisco doesn't have its own superhero yet. New York has Spider-man, Daredevil, Fantastic Four, etc. I plan to change that by introducing the Bay Area to Specter X. The comic will hopefully be drawn and colored by an extremely talented artist, Sterling Gee. [The above drawing is of Specter X, done by Jason Tamse]. Sterling has been drawing for years and has an amazing portfolio. http://silvertide.deviantart.com

He's in dire need of funds.

The amount I'm asking, will help pay for Sterling's services, along with paying for printing, promoting, and distributing the comic. All who donate will receive a "thank you" credit in the comic and upon request will cameo in future issues as a background character, or name mention. The comic is hoping to be completed in 2014.

DONORS: While it's required to provide a mailing address so I can mail out your prizes, do know that all mailing addresses are kept in secret and I will be the only one who will have that information.  Only your name will be publicly known, but know that you can choose to have your name "Anonymous" so only I again will know who donated to me.  Please send me a message if you have any questions and I'll be sure to answer them.

It's been my dream to be a comic book writer. I've loved superheroes since I was a kid and have a passion to create my own to help inspire and serve as a role model to kids.

If you'd like to see my previous works, I've written my own comic strip with my friend Sterling drawing check them out:

A Superhero Is Born
Page 1 Splash
Specter X is flying towards the reader. He's determined like he's about to punch out the villain. The setting is BOOK "˜EM Bookstore located at Golden State University.
The next page reveals that X is fighting with Konanga Tyson/Damages. She's a gangbanger who recently acquired superhuman strength. She was attempting to rob the store when X came in to stop her. As X is about to punch Damages, she is able to punch him so hard that he flies across the room and hits the wall. A headshot of X reveals the blow was intense and X is lucky to be awake.
Specter X: [Thinking] I really got to start hitting the gym. [X gets up and flies across the room.] Better try this again. [He flies close to Damages and goes intangible. Damages punches, but her fist goes right through him. X punches her so hard that she is out cold by the next panel. Bystanders are stunned. They stare at him and he stares back.]
Specter X: Okay! I'm sorry I hit a woman, but she hit me first:hard. [He rubs his chin to prove this. Thinking bubble appears.] To quote Talking Heads, "How Did I Get Here?"
Specter X: [Narrating] Despite how this looks, I'm not a Chris Brown person. I may listen to some of his music, but I was raised to never hit a girl:at least girls without super strength. Believe it or not this isn't a bad day for me. One bad day was:[The reader will turn the page and in the next page will be a Splash page of a bad wreck. It's the N-line from Muni Metro. It's been derailed over on Duboce and Church just as the train was coming out of the tunnel. The train has flipped on its side. There are police cars, fire trucks, and ambulances. There are bodies being covered up on the street, by police and such, bodies that have fallen out of the train when it derailed. Police are holding reporters and onlookers back as they look on wanting to get closer. The narration captions appears at the upper left corner of the page.]:the day I died
