I am a retired restaurateur and writer, living in Lincoln, England.
I cannot sit at home, socialising with my friends, while Europe faces the biggest humanitarian crisis of our lifetime.
I am heading to the Greek island of Samos for a month or more, to help in any way that I can - and that might be a month of chopping onions, clearing rubbish, or sorting laundry, . . - whatever !
I don't mind what I do; I just won't sit back and watch the misery and suffering while I am relaxing in the comfort of my home.
I know there will be financial needs, and I don't know how far my own money will go. I am asking for funding so I can reach in my pocket when there are projects that need financing, and get that project going.

If there are any surplus funds remaining when I return to England, the money will go to refugee charities.
