Santa Rosa Wildfire Destroys Homes
Donation protected
Imagine the frightening reality of having to flee your home in the middle of the night as a massive wildfire engulfs your home, destroying decades of memories and all of your belongings.
This is what just happened to my dear friend - a loving mother and veteran Professor at UC Davis since 1999, Virginia Hamilton, and many others. Virginia and her family have literally lost everything. Thankfully they escaped the fire and are physically unharmed. However, this devastation is emotionally and financially significant, as their entire Santa Rosa community has just burned to the ground.
My goal is to help raise funds to help Virginia and her family with temporary housing as well as the community. Therefore, 50% of the money raised in this campaign will go to Virginia's family and 50% of the money will be DONATED TO OTHER DEVASTATED SANTA ROSA FAMILIES IN NEED.
Even during such a time of need, this is what Virginia requested -- to make sure any support is also shared with the greater community and those who need it most -- because that is the kind of person she is. Always optimistic, unselfish and hoping to help others in any capacity.
Every donation helps, big and small. Please consider supporting Virginia and the Santa Rosa Community during this trying time by donating today. We never know when tradgedy will strike. I believe it is important to come together and support others, as it may be us that needs that same support in the future.
