What is this fund raising for ?
After watching last week's Vijay TV talk show Neeya Naana (Aired on Jun 5th), it was deeply touching to see how the underprivileged kids in India (Tamil Nadu) were able to beat all the odds in reaching their goal. It is hard to believe that even the state topper is in lack of educational support to purse her higher education.
Goal of this fundraiser is to help Saranya and Sangavi achieve their ambition of becoming Doctors. They are off by 2 marks in securing a medical seat in Government colleges. Private Medical colleges would cost them anywhere from $75k to $100k (for 5 years total) per student. With their families already struggling to make ends meet, We are obligated to help these kids with the best we can.

How the funding will be used:
Once our goal of $75k is reached, We will transfer the fund to educational institution through NPO.
Trust account will be set up in Indian national bank through one of the trusted charity org.
Charity trust will directly pay the educational institutions. Part of the fund (Max of 20%) will be provided to them for books and other expenses.
These students may be getting help from other sources as well. If a student receives enough fund from others, this fund will be directed to the next qualified student.
How soon money is needed?
Ideally, target should be achieved by mid of July. If we end up pulling more than we set out for, plan is to support more underprivileged kids.
What is done so far?
With the help of Mr.Gobinath , contact information of Saranya and Sangavi was obtained and both were reached directly to understand their current situation. Plans are in place to meet them in person next month (July). In parallel, working with Agaram and other Tamil Sangams to explore other options.
How did we arrive $75000 as a goal?
$75000 is about INR 50L to cover both students full course or at least 50%. They will also get help from other sources. If they choose to take BDS or Engineering, remaing fund will be used for other underprevileged students.
Did they know about it ?
Yes, We are constantly talking with them, helping in preparing for next steps including english coaching etc. Soon we will upload the videos.
How soon we need this money?
Ideally, we would like to achieve this target by middle of July. If receive more funds, we will support more underprivileged kids.
What did we do so far?
We spoke to Mr.Gobinath and got the contact information of Saranya and Sangavi. We spoke to Sangavi and Saranya to understand their current situation. I am planning to visit them in July.
We are reaching out to NPOs and other Tamil Sangams for additional hlep.
