Bring a Refugee Family to Ottawa

"Be the change you wish to see in the world" ~ Gandhi
Over 4 million Syrian refugees have fled their homes in search of a better life. More than half of the refugees are children and women. These numbers are constantly increasing, and the state of the refugees is only getting worse.
On the other hand, recognizing our privilege as Canadian citizens, we live in a much better state. However, what about these helpless people who are displaced by war? Aren't they as human as we are? Shouldn't lend a helping hand?
On behalf of the University of Ottawa Social Wellness Club, we are pleased to announce our initiative to sponsor our first refugee family in our very own Ottawa! As a result of the war, this family was forced to flee their home to find refuge in Lebanon. Nevertheless, with the large influx of refugees to Lebanon, many are left without care or resources to upkeep a minimum standard of living. In addition to the agony of hunger and poverty, the family has also had very little success in finding help for their daughter who needs immediate medical attention. We decided that we could not turn a blind eye and that we had to do everything we could to help this family.
Our target goal is to raise $5,000, although with your help, we are confident that we will be able to contribute even more to this wonderful initiative. We ask you to please open your hearts and donate generously towards this cause. Your contributions will truly make a difference, even if it's only $5 worth a cup of coffee.
