A Dog for Haileigh

First, I want to thank everyone who has already helped Haileigh. Our family has been blessed with the best support and generosity. We've already been able to get a Haileigh a state-of-the-art monitoring system and a weighted blanket. Both of which have given our family more peace of mind and it wouldn't have been possible without the help of our friends, family and community.
Second, let me introduce myself and my family if you don't already know us. My name is Danielle Hollenbeck. My niece, Haileigh Blodgett, is the beautiful little girl you see above and below. We live in Claremore Oklahoma. Haileigh is being raised by my parents, Tom and Lori Clark.

Haileigh's journey is far from over though. Haileigh has suffered from epileptic seizures since she was 4 months old and they are only getting worse. She is on numerous medications and is still behind the curve when it comes to communication. She's doing great in speech therapy but when it comes to communicating her health and seizures, she's still helpless. My mom has studied every move my niece makes. She can tell just from looking at her eyes or in her actions if she's coming up on a seizure.

As amazing as that is, we would still like to provide Haileigh with a voice. That voice will come from a seizure alert dog. These dogs are incredible. They can tell from Haileigh's scent when her body is off and when a seizure is imminent.

These dogs do not come cheap, however. After a conversation with a local service dog trainer, I learned that a dog for Haileigh can cost anywhere from $5-25 THOUSAND dollars. With the community's help I know we can get Haileigh the companionship and security she needs in a service dog.

We will be working with Glad Wags in Tulsa.The funds from this campaign will not be touched until we raise enough to find a suitable service dog and are ready to train him/her. I will personally be accountable for these funds and will personally guarantee they will be used for nothing else.
