Freya's Service Dog

Donation protected
My family is trying to raise money for a service dog to help my daughter, Freya, who has autism.

Freya is a bright, lovely little girl who likes swimming, animals, and music. She struggles with communication  and has a tendency to wander. She has no fear (even when she should!) and we worry that she may wander into danger.

There's a lot of evidence that service dogs can provide the physical safety and emotional support kiddos like Freya need. For example, service dogs can prevent impulsive running, interrupt self harming behavior and PICA, and help provide sensory input when needed. Canines 4 Hope is an organization that trains dogs to work with children who have Autism. Their fee for a service dog is $11,500. Additional funds are needed to pay for gofundme fees (7.9% of total donations), airline tickets ($2500), room and board during training in Florida ($2000), and respite funding while Freya's service dog is being trained with my family ($500). Freya's parents will foot the remainder of the bill if the fundraising efforts fall short, but that means Freya will be without her much needed companion for awhile longer while they save.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to read our story!
