Hi Everyone!
I am asking you all to help fund the completion of my series pertaining to love, loss and redemption.
A little background and a lot of passion
As a young painter I lived in Paris and exhibited with Andy Warhol. After the traumatic death of my father in 1997, I ceased painting and became enamored with the paradoxical quality of wax. Wax by nature is fragile, yet has an endurance and strength not unlike that of human nature. It can melt or become brittle in extreme circumstances, likewise, it can last for centuries. The seductive aesthetics of this medium- the quality of flesh produced by color and transparency, the feeling they can come alive with a blink of an eye- inspired me to become a wax artist.
I decided to create a go fund me campaign to underwrite a present waxwork series based on unrequited love and the 5 steps of grief. Something I am sure we all can identify with! Each figure has multiple materials that are carefully selected to represent each of those steps. The images included are samples of work from the series. Sleeping Beauty, who portrays denial, lies in a crystallized state waiting for Mister Right while Anger is a used and abused blow up doll.
Waxworks today
The intrigue of waxworks never cease to amaze. They have been used for effigies, reliquaries, anatomical figures, and popular entertainment, just to name a few. Presently the MET is exhibiting "Life Like Sculpture, Color, And The Body". See link below.

How you can help
Currently New Orleans is a temporary research location for the developement of this series. My goal is to raise $8,000.00 to complete my work during my stay here. No amount is too small- every penny counts!
Thank you very much and I look forward to sharing my progress with you!
