Escondido Girls Softball Snackbar
Donation protected
It all started with a sink cabinet that had some wood rot. The next thing we knew, we decided to remove all of the cabinets and re-do our Snackbar and bring it up to health department standards. After all, it was over 30 years old. The floor was peeling up, the cabinets were falling apart, and the counter tops had bubbled.
Our Snackbar provides drinks and food for our girls softball league. We also open it for tournaments that come to play in Kit Carson Park in Escondido, California, and have even used it for charity events. The money we raise helps operate our league and keeps the costs down for our girls playing softball. We have girls who start playing softball at 5 years old, and continue until they play for one of our local high schools.
Since our core values are "sportsmanship, scholarship, and friendship" we also provide our former players an opportunity to apply for scholarships to college. This money raised from our Snackbar allows our former players to continue their education and their scholarly pursuits.
We need to raise enough money to bring this concession stand up to health department codes. We will supply the manpower and complete the work with volunteers who are experienced in the appropriate fields. We need your donations to provide for the materials to resurface the walls, and apply stainless steel to the cooking areas, seal the floor with epoxy, put in cabinets, sinks, and countertops, and purchase a commercial refrigerator and freezer. Please help us provide a safe place to serve food to our Escondido Girls Softball community. Remember your donation is tax deductible. Please contact us for our Tax I.D. number. Visit our website www.egsl.org for updated photos as we work on this project.
Thank you for supporting us.
