Sri Lanka Flood Disaster

Hey guys,
My country, Sri Lanka, is currently going through one of the worst intermonsoon rains this week. This has resulted in a massive amount of rain in a very short period of time. Many areas in the island have got over 300mm of rain in the last 48 hours, which is a months’ worth of rain. This has caused many reservoirs, rivers and dams to overflow, submerging many villages and towns, and also causing massive landslides.
The heavy rains, landslides and floods have affected more than 350,000 people currently. Nearly 200,000 people have been displaced and are currently being sheltered in welfare centers across the country. The death toll of this disaster is 40 thus far with over a thousand people missing and unaccounted for. The death toll, missing rate, and affected individuals keep rising every hour.
Many people who have been affected do not have dry clothes or anything to eat. The most needed items are food, medicine, sanitary items, clothes and baby equipment. All the donations you contribute will go towards providing these items to the displaced individuals. Many have lost their homes, so we are in desperate need of daily items like these to provide for their day to day needs. All your donations will be given to a relief program that me and my friends are running through our local church; (The info of that program is attached as the last picture in this description).
1 US dollar goes a long way in Sri Lankan Rupees (1 dollar equal’s almost 145 rupees), so even the smallest contribution helps at the moment. Please consider helping as many people are suffering due to this unfortunate event.
Some of my own family members and friends are affected as well, and it would mean a lot to me if you could help in any way you can.
