In 2012, Stephanie Crouse Packer, was diagnosed with scleroderma , an autoimmune disease causing hardening of the skin and affecting organs. The disease settled into Stephanie's lungs. She has other conditions associated with scleroderma, including lupus, gastro paresis, Raynaud’s phenomenon, interstitial cystitis and trigeminal neuralgia.
Most days bring pain with a struggle to breathe.
Her doctor told her, three years ago, she had only about three years to live, .
Stephanie is now33. She with her husband Brian and their four children are bravely fighting this terrible disease, Recenlty Stephanie was provided a G-tube to sustain her nutritional needs. Most recently she's undergoing chemotherapy to fight the dibilitating process of h er desease.
Stephanie's husband, Brian, needed to go from full-time work to a weekend-only job to care for her and their children The family has moved several times to keep housing affordable and a roof over their heads.
