Stephanie Polston Fights ALS
Donation protected
Update 8/21: Thank you for the overwhelming support for Stephanie so far! We are so grateful to each of you that have donated! We wanted to update you on Steph. The disease is progressing. Sadly, It is getting harder for Stephanie to talk and she’s losing the ability to use her right arm. This disease is devastating. Stephanie and her family will be traveling to Mayo Clinic in September. Their hope is that she will qualify for a clinical trial to start a drug that could slow the progression of this awful disease. ALS is one of the worst and most expensive diseases to live with. This trip and the potential treatment is not covered by insurance. Our goal is to raise an additional $5k-$10k to cover the cost of this trip. Any amount you can give is helpful! Thank you!
Hello Everyone,
We are Stephanie Polston’s best friends for well over 15 years. As you may know, Stephanie was recently diagnosed with Bulbar onset ALS.
Stephanie is just 31 years young and has been diagnosed with one of the most horrific and terminal diseases out there. There is no cure for ALS, only treatments to help the progression of the disease not take her life so quickly. It’s beyond devastating to even wrap your head around this type of diagnosis for Stephanie. This form of ALS has already taken some of Stephanie’s ability to swallow and speak. It has also impacted her muscles used for breathing. This disease will eventually kill Stephanie’s nerves and take away her ability to use her muscles. Bulbar disease accounts for the majority of the worst symptoms of ALS.
Stephanie and her husband John welcomed their only daughter, into the world just 10 months ago. Stephanie is devastated by the thought of not being able to watch her baby girl grow up like the way she once imagined. Steph has had really tough conversations with loved ones on her wishes for her daughter's future. No one should ever have to think that way. Stephanie wants to ensure that John and her baby girl will be taken care of in the future and we know by raising money for her now, she will know she has an army of people supporting her and her family.
We are raising money for The Polston's to help cover the costs of all of Steph's expenses for as long as she will need. Stephanie is on disability now and not receiving full pay. She is currently in the process of being accepted to the Mayo Clinic for a clinical trial on ALS.
We know Stephanie has had a positive impact on so many people around her throughout her life. Now it’s our turn to have a positive impact on her.
We appreciate any and all support that you can give to the most wonderful person we know!
From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU!
