Teresa's Heart Transplant

Dearest friends and family! I need to tell you about my wonderful heart sister, (and many of you who know me, know of her). I call her that because we were brought together over 20 years ago through our congenital heart conditions.  Her name is Teresa Harris and she is 52 years old.  She has complex congenital heart disease. She, like me, never enjoyed the normalcy of life.  Running, jumping, and growning up "normal" was never possible.  Our struggles have  been many, and our challenges, very large. Teresa overcame many obstacles and was able to give birth to a child, now 16 (pictured), and is autistic.  Joshie is a marvelous son, and Teresa, an incredible single mother. Teresa has fought her entire 52 years to be the best person she can be, kind, caring and loving.  She has been on the heart transplant list for 12 years as a status 2.  But,  just recently, went into congestive heart failure and is now waiting at the University of Michigan Hospital for a heart transplant. Teresa is now fighting for her life as a status 1A.  She has been in the hospital for 5 weeks as of April 25. When Teresa receives her new heart, she will cherish it always, and treat her body as she always has - with tender loving care!
