My name is Jaison Minx (you can find me on facebook). I've had the privilege to meet a wonderful orginization called the worldventures foundation. This organization creates schools for orphans and provides health and safety for these children.
I have been asked to volunteer my time to help in November from the 10th-17th. The purpose of this trip is to get inside knowledge of the conditions of these orphanages and assess the immediate needs of these children. It really hit my heart when one of the reprsentatives,after asking what to give as a donation, told me not to bring the kids socks because they didnt even have shoes.
The money donated will be used to secure my lodging (roughly 800$) and also airfare from san diego to whatever airport i can find in thailand. I will also need funding for food expense and possibly taxi service. I would like to see about gifts for the children.
This trip is already changing my life. Ive been doing research about thailand orphans, and have had to step away from the computer to calm down from crying. It would mean so much to me to be able to this, not only as a way to give back, but also to better myself as a fellow human being.
Im launching this post now to start collecting funds to save up. I am ensuring success ,hopefully, by putting the word out early.
