The Robert Mikolajewski Scholarship

Hi All.
We are 2015 Winter Lincoln Park Cohort of the School of Nursing at DePaul University. It is with great sadness and loss, a fellow recent graduate unexpectedly lost his life in a motor vehicle accident yesterday evening, Sunday, December 4th, 2016 at 5:10pm. Robert Walsh Mikolajewski was 26 yo and chose to be a nurse; an optimal career choice for a man of such compassion and skill. His uninteruppted joy for life, enthusiam for learning, and his ability to care for everyone that he met was evident by his never ending smile. He just completed his Master's in Nursing just three weeks prior. As a cohort, we all agree Rob filled a niche, only unique to him and his mystique. He was a staple in our everyday. A smile amongst frowns, a handshake and hug amongst cold shoulders, a laugh in a crowd amongst tears, and a cornerstone of fraternal love. In his honor, we are starting a scholarship to be awarded to a future DePaul School of Nursing Student who exemplifies the qualities which Rob represented most to us. Unstoppable happiness, a drive and desire to learn and succeed, reliability, and a true team player. Further details regarding frequency of award, qualifications, and stipulaitions will be discussed in the near future. Our cohort thanks you for honoring his memory.
