Rosemary Timotea Yuro, known as Timi Yuro (August 4, 1940 – March 30, 2004), was an American soul and R & B singer-songwriter. She is considered to be one of the first blue-eyed soul stylists of the rock era. She sang in her parents' Italian restaurant in Hollywood before catching the eye and ear of record executives & releasing a U.S. Billboard #4 single in 1961 with "Hurt". Possessing an emotional depth and elegant vocal style, Yuro is often compared to Dinah Washington. One of her biggest fans was Elvis. Elvis, would order a pizza from Timi's Mother's restaurant whenever he was in town!  Yuro is also the first Italian American female vocalist to appear at the famed Apollo Theater where she brought the house down! Timi scored many more hits in her career including "What's A Matter Baby" "I Apologize", "Make The World Go Away" and many more. Her final album was in 1982 with her longtime friend Willie Nelson. Throat Cancer took her voice from us for good in 1985, and Timi suffered enormous health problems over the years before passing away from brain cancer in 2004. Sadly, with all ofher medical bills, Timi was left with barely a dime to her name, only her many gold records that hung on her living room wall.

My name is Mike Iannarelli, and I control the estate of Timi Yuro. Timi was like a Mother to me. She was a wonderful warm person who deserves to be remembered for her contributions to the entertainment industry. I made her a promise on her death bed, that I would not let her music or memory be forgotten, that is why this project is so important to me. She still has many fans around the world, and I have been able to get a lot of her music released over the last several years. Pop Star Duffy is currently portraying Timi in a movie called 'Legend" about the notorious Kray Brothers from London. Timi was also Reggie Kray's favorite singer, so they had to include Timi in the film in some small way. Sadly the estate has seen no money for her music or anything else since she passed in 2004.

It would mean the world to me to be able to honor this woman that I dearly love and miss, and get her the recognition that she finally deserves. Anyone that could help in any way, Myself and Timi's daughter and Grandchildren would be beyond grateful!
