Tucson Royals take on NYC

The 10U Tucson Royals baseball team has qualified for the National Youth Baseball Championships in NEW YORK CITY!! Traveling to NYC is quite an expense for these young athletes and we are asking for help from the community, family, and friends.
Who are the 10U Royals? This team was formed after Coach Garrett R. saw potential in a couple young boys from Western Little League and wanted to keep them together and teach them the game they all show a passion for until they reach high school. Coach Garrett teamed up with Art Casto (another Western Coach/Parent), Alex Ceballos (Good UofA grad with a love of baseball giving back to his community) and they took their 9U team to Tucson Champs Baseball Academy lead by George Arias. This team has gone to tournaments in Tucson, Phoenix, Nogales, Yuma, Hermasillo, Mexico and Las Cruces, NM. They have training on and off the field on a weekly basis. They have classroom, hitting, and on field training. It is instilled in them to be a good student, child, teammate, friend and community member. If any of those things fall short, they have to answer to their coaches and teammates.
This team is learning to respect the sport of baseball and how to be a good person in their community. They are learning baseball, situations in the game, good condititioning, eating right, and giving back to their academy and community.
The funds requested for this team are to help cover airfare and lodging for players ONLY!!(Parents attending are paying their own way). The tournament takes place the week of July 24, 2017 in Yaphank, NY. The tournament they have qualified for is held at Baseball Heaven and they will play with teams from all over the country. We don't want cost to be a deterent for these boys to represent Tucson, AZ in a National tournament they have worked so hard to earn! You can check out the tournament at http://nybcbaseball.com
