[in Standing Rock, ND] - “They established a command team and an operational TOC, and are assisting with safety and security operations in the camp. I'm honored to have met these incredible Veterans, who inspire as they continue their mission of service.”
Tulsi Gabbard - Congresswoman, Hawaii 2nd district.

VeteransRespond is organizing a return mission to Standing Rock, ND to support the free speech movement against the Dakota Access Pipeline at the request of LaDonna Brave Bull Allard of Sacred Stone Camp. Our return is also fulfilling commitments to camp chef Roni Matheson and several veterans on site.

We recently completed missions to support the inaugural Women’s March in Washington, DC, as well as to Two Rivers, a water protection camp in Texas.

In spite of published statements that the camps at Standing Rock are being closed, VeteransRespond has received a specific call for assistance.

Many prayer warriors are committed to continuing to stand until local water sources are safe from exploitation and environmental danger.

Peaceful water protectors are still being injured by various outside agencies.

We will not ignore specific requests for support as long as people are being threatened.

We will stand.

Our immediate goals are:

• Shielding water protectors from escalating community chaos
• Establishing a long term VeteransRespond camp at Sacred Stone
• Assisting homeless veterans left behind due to by a large national movement in December
• Resupply and logistical support for kitchen operations at Sacred Stone
• Other humanitarian and veteran aid as funds allow

Some of our team members have wellness, mental health, and trauma prevention expertise to share with the veterans already in camp.

VeteransRespond discourages any type of large mobilization of veterans that could interrupt fragile camp infrastructure at a time of instability in the movement.

Many veterans involved in a large national movement in December were not reimbursed by the organization raising funds online. Homes, vehicles, jobs, and relationships have been lost.

All funds donated will go directly towards transporting a small team of highly skilled Standing Rock alumnae veterans from around the nation, as well as meeting direct expenses for the above stated goals.

VeteransRespond is committed to 100% transparency in financial reporting.

The manager of this campaign is Mark Sanderson, VeteransRespond is currently located in Georgetown, Texas. Mark Sanderson is personally responsibile for all funds as we work towards establishing our 501c3 status. Funds are reported to a founding member board consisting of 4 individuals.  All funds donated will go directly to the Sacred Stone comunity and the veterans comunity involved in the Standing Rock movement.
