Winifred R. Harris’ Between Lines Dance Company needs your help! Our company members are fundraising to attend the the 30th annual International Association of Blacks in Dance Conference (IABD) in January 2018, but we can’t get there on our own. The conference takes place in Los Angeles, CA from January 23-28. IABD will offer us the opportunity to learn from choreographers, take part in discussions and lectures, and form a strong dance community. We are seeking to raise funds for the registration, flight, and hotel costs.
Upcoming Events!
We are hosting a Benefit for our cause! Joing us Friday December 1st at 7:30 at Your Soul's Movement for a silent auction, performances, and art gallery!

About Us
Winifred R. Harris’ Between Lines Dance Company, based in Denver, CO is a modern dance company which performs concert, site specific, and musical theater performances. The company focuses on strong technical prowess, and expression through gesture. Director, Winifred R. Harris, is a multi-faceted artist, teacher, and community activist. As a choreographer, she consciously balances the inherently beautiful escapism of dance and the social realities that form today’s aesthetic and cultural values. She enjoys working with fantasies and dreams, as well understanding and taking responsibility for issues grounded in reality. In short, Ms. Harris is a visionary who creates art as conversation, a connective tissue to the world, and a means to see beyond what we think of as “limits.”
What we are fundraising for?
The International Association of Blacks in Dance preserves and promotes dance by people of African ancestry or origin, and assists and increases opportunities for artists in advocacy, audience development, education, funding, networking, performance, philosophical dialogue, and touring.
IABD has become the Mecca for Blacks in Dance such as administrators, artists, choreographers, dance companies, directors, educators, scholars, and those interested in artistry, black dance issues, and performance presentations. The Association, founded in 1991, provides a network, formal newsletters, choreographers directory, published papers and is the raison d’être for the annual conference. The Association also responds to and initiates dialogue around issues that impact the Black Dance Community as well as the Dance community at large. IABD has developed national prominence and allowed the Black Dance Community to come together on issues important to them.”
