The First Mosque in Wagga Wagga, NSW, Australia
Wagga Wagga is the place where paths cross, and people meet. According to the Australian census, Wagga Wagga is a highly diverse city with many ethnic and cultural groups. Around 1000 Muslims live here. However, we do not have a mosque yet. MARWA, the local Association of Muslims, is working on building the first mosque, Insha Allah.
WHO ARE WE
We are a charity and not-for-profit organisation working for the Muslim community living in Wagga Wagga, NSW, Australia. Marwa is registered with Australian Charities and Not-for-profits commissions (ACNC, ABN No-86 491 341 503). Its trustees and Executive committee members are mainly based on Charles Sturt University.
The mission of the Marwa is to establish a dynamic and interactive Muslim community that contributes to and enriches the harmony and multiculturalism of Australian society.
OUR SERVICES
Marwa provides several services to the Muslim community and the broader community of Wagga Wagga.
Our services include but are not limited to, Scholarship funds for female students, emergency funds such as Covide-19 fund, Ebola funds etc; Islamic knowledge sharing; congregational prayer managing; participating in common dialogues; arranging community get-togethers; Janazah and burial services etc.
OUR APPEAL TO YOU
Alhamdulillah, we purchased a piece of land at 19 Jones Street, East Wagga Wagga for $230,000. We appeal to you for the construction project. Please donate generously and help us to create a vibrant central place for the whole community for praying and all Islamic activities.
