On June 13th, 2013, our friend
Chris Wallace ("Wallace" to his friends) married the love of his life, Ginny
Dawkins.
Less than a week after returning from their honeymoon, Wallace suffered a brain hemorrhage.
After emergency surgery, Wallace spent several weeks in intensive care. And while he has made significant strides in his recovery, Wallace and Ginny now face what will doubtlessly be a long road of therapy and healing.
Needless to say, this is a very expensive proposition that may run into the thousands of dollars per day, all while Wallace is unable to work.
Wallace has lived in the Rock Hill/Fort Mill area for most of his life and is a regular in many of the downtown establishments. Many of you have met him; if you haven't, then you certainly should. He truly is one of the nicest people you will ever meet.
So, on Saturday, July 27th, 2013, we are holding "Wallacepalooza".
The purpose of this page and Wallacepalooza is to raise money to help ease the financial burden brought on by Wallace's sudden illness, and to have a great time in support of one of the best of us.
We want to make sure that Wallace and Ginny can enjoy their married life together without being weighed down by medical bills.
We'll be at it all day and all night long starting July 27th, 2013 @ 11am through July 28th @ 1am at:
McHale's on Main
122 East Main Street
Rock Hill, SC 29730
We'll have live music, prizes, special deals, and plenty of fun surprises all day.
You can see our awesome lineup of bands here.
Stay updated on the event by following us on Twitter.
Wallace would give you the shirt off his back. We want him to know that the community he lives in would do the same for him. Rock Hill has an awesome tradition of stepping up when one of their own is in need, and we want to keep this tradition alive.
You can help right now by clicking the "Donate" button, or contributing in-person at McHale's on Main, Millstone Pizza + Taphouse, Vault Bar, or Sub Station II.
All net proceeds from online donations will go directly to assist Wallace and Ginny in this difficult time.
